Well, my DH found something interesting online about my previous post. It basically says that it is illegal to make your employees pay the drawer when it is short. You can go here and here(scroll all the way down) to see for yourself.
Well, I printed these pages out and I plan to show them to my manager, and she can bring them to the owner also if needed.

I'm glad you found something online that you can print and show to the boss. It really stinks when you have to work for someone who thinks they can bully their employees. Keep us posted and let us know what he says.
Well, the owner gave me a call this morning. He knows that he cannot legally make us pay the register when it is so short, but he says something about a matter of trust. Whether or not us employees want to make it "right" by paying the drawer for mistakes.

Yeah, I'm activly seeking employment elsewhere. I faxed my resume to a couple of local places, and I went to a Temp Agency today and filled out an application and did some computer tests. So there. I'm sure something will come of that.
Your boss talks about trust, but whose to say it wasn't him that took money from the drawer??? I don't trust anyone, especially bozo bosses who spout things about "trust". Good luck on your job hunt.
