things i've learned by watching sports channels at work

  1. CURLING - I think it was called this. I didn't know this sport existed. Apparently, they did it in the Olympics this last time. It looks like giant shuffleboard, where one person pushes the giant "puck" toward the goal and then two others sweep in front of it to guide it to the right place. This is all done on ice too, like hocky.
  2. BOWLING FREESTYLE - Regular professional bowlers do tricks. They throw two balls at the same time, or they bowl a ball under or over a chair that is placed in the lane, or they aim for 20 pins, instead of the regular 10 pins, or they spin one ball rolling and spinning slowly down the lane, then when it gets almost to the end, they throw another ball to bank off of this spinning ball so they both hit the pins together, that one works well for a 7 - 10 split. I can't find a picture of this, but it happened!
  3. WOMEN'S COLLEGE LACROSSE - It exists. Didn't know that.
  4. EATING CONTESTS - Now, I knew these existed, but I watched some. The same people eat hotdogs, then eat spaghetti, and then pies, maybe it was different days, but it showed them all in a row. Made me want to throw UP!
  5. I saw BARBARO win the big derby race and I saw TIGER WOODS cry when he won the British Open.
