Thirteen Things about MY JOB AS A HAIRDRESSER THAT I DO OR DO NOT LIKE:- I like having adult conversations and meeting new people daily.
- I like getting tips every day.
- I like when the actual check comes also.
- I like the people that I work with, we have a fun time and joke around.
- I don't like having little pieces of hair all over my clothes, even in my bra by the end of the day.
- I don't like standing on my feet all day, my feet hurt, and sometimes my back hurts too.
- I don't like being away from my family (kids, hubby) but sometimes I do like that part. Sometimes a break from the family is nice, especially when the kids have been driving me mad!
- I like when I have return clients, because we develop a client/hairdresser relationship and we can talk about things and keep up with each other that way.
- I even have one dentist that comes in and me and some of the other hairdressers have been to see him for dental work, and I am bringing my kids there next week! Wow, I sure am glad that he wasn't a gynocologist!
- I like when the customer is clearly happy with their new haircut.
- I do not like when the customer is like, "yeah, that'll do." Come-on! Like it! LIKE IT I SAY!!
- I like to see cute kids come in for a haircut, or come in with Dad for his haircut, then I talk with the kids, because they are so cute and sometimes say funny things. One time, I asked a kid if he had any pets and he said he had one but it died, and I said that I was sorry and he asked, "why are you sorry? you didn't kill him." And that was so cute and sad at the same time, so now I don't ask about their pets anymore.
- And the number one thing about my work is... Oh wait, this isn't a top ten list. Okay, the last thing about my work is, that the receptionist does most of the cleaning and the washing of the towels, so we stylists don't have to worry so much about it all the time. Yay, for receptionists!

Great list. I like hearing your prespective. My question would be: do you feel like you waste more money getting so much cash every day? Are you disciplied? I ask b/c back in my waitressing days, I would blow the cash, then the check was nothing, so I was always broke. Some things never change.
Here's my saucy TT.
13ish life-influencing books
I would read again if I weren't so lazy
Great list! Thanks for sharing your life as a hairdresser.
Ew, I never thought about the "other people's hair in your clothes" thing, but I guess that makes sense. Do you have a mat to stand on around the chair? They really make a big difference, along with good shoes. (And my TT are up.)
I haven't been to my hairdresser in weeks. Time to make an appointment I think.
I came by to share my TT

Hair all over me would wig me out too!
cricket: I do kindof blow some cash, but lately I have been depositing it into the bank, so I can see where it goes, so when my hubby wants to know what I spent all my money on, I can drag out the checkbook and tell him exactly where it went!
jackie: they won't let us have chair mats where I work. If I ever get my own salon, we will have chair mats! for sure!
#5. doesn't that suck? it's like shards of glass sometimes!
lol #9 made me giggle. ;)
