Well, to begin with, I am still recovering from this gallbladder surgery and I was home alone today with the girl, age 4. The morning started off okay because Chris took the boy to school for me so I didn't have to get him, me and the girl in the car and drive him to school. So, my m-i-l came over to help me bring the cat to the vet because I cannot pick up anything over 10 pounds and the cat has been acting different. Turns out the cat is diabetic! Now, this is not our favorite cat and we are low on funds, so my husband is not too happy about this turn of events. He doesn't want to have to buy insulin and give the cat shots twice a day with me. Both of us are freaky about needles! I have gotten more used to them, since having 2 kids and all the shots and blood tests that go along with that, and the 2 surgeries I have now had, but still, I have never given a shot to anyone. I mean, when they have on the news about flu shots and they show people sticking needles in people, I have to turn my head! So I don't know how this is going to work! Well, our Walgreen's is out of the insulin that we need, but they said we could possibly get it cheaper somewhere else, and that it was over-the-counter so we don't need a prescription to get it, so I called around and decided we could get it at the local CVS pharmacy (used to be Eckerd Drugs). So my husband was supposed to pick some up on the way home from work so I could go to the vet and have them give us a demo on giving the shots. So I made an appointment for this morning to do that.
So then it was time to take the girl to her speech therapy class, so we are running late, or almost late, because she won't put her markers down, she wanted to finish what she was doing first. So I had to encourage her to stop what she was doing and get her coat on and come to the car with me and finally we get in the car, but oops, the car does not start! Well, we are already running almost late and we have to go back in the house and out the front door and walk to the school. This is the first time that she walks faster than me because I am still healing from surgery, remember. When we get up to the school, I let her go ahead of me and go in the front doors because I knew her teacher would be waiting for her there. I finally trail in behind her holding my tummy and almost out of breath by then. There is another mom there because her daugher goes to class with mine, so I tell her the whole story up to that point! Then I call my m-i-l and ask if she can come pick us up from there at 2:30 and bring us back home and then go back and pick up the boy from school at 3:00. Then I notice that it is almost 2:00 and realize that I told the m-i-l the wrong time! The other mom says yeah, she wondered why I said 2:30 but thought I must have had some other things to do there. So she said she would take us home. That was nice. I called the m-i-l back and told her that I was stupid and we got out at 2:00, not 2:30 but the other mom would bring us home if she could still just pick up the boy for me. (he does not want to walk home by himself, that would make things easier, but it's okay)
Lets see, what came next? I already wrote this out once, but lost most of the story so now I am mad that I have to write it out again! I was trying to do the spell check and something happened, so I might just have some things spelled wrong!
Well, Chris was not able to pick up the cat's insulin on his way home from work afterall. He did not realize that I had made an appointment for the vet to give us a demo on how to give it to the cat for this morning, so this morning I had to call in and cancel that appointment.
Chris has steaks marrinating all day and he came home to grill them and his sister and her daughter came over for dinner and they brought the salad. Dinner went well, I think. Then he went out and put a battery that we had on hand (another story) in my car to see if it would work, and it still did not work! So that was not good. We would have to call roadside assistance in the morning and have them take it to the dealership to fix it.
Also, a cousin of mine emailed me out of the blue yesterday! That was kind of weird. Just a weird, odd day full of things. I gave her this blog site so maybe she will come visit it.
So.... This morning he called the dealership and they said to try and start the car a different way than he tried because of the computer chip in cars now. So I had him on the phone and did what he said, and the car actually started after a couple of tries! So yippee! Now I have a car again! I will have to run my errands now which include getting the cat's insulin!
So... was this a completely boring story or what? I may have left something out since I had to go back and write it again. If I loose it agian, before the whole thing gets published, I might scream!
And.... does anyone know how to add a video snippet to the page? I have one that is cute and holiday-ish.
